Looking a little like a prop from a beautifully furnished bar or a concoction sitting on an apothecary shelf, comes this stunning bottle of gin. This so called ‘Alchemists gin’ is a collaborative effort between the well renowned head bartender at Islington bar ‘The Gibson’, Marian Beke, and the second oldest still operating distillery in Belgium, Copperhead. A match made in gin heaven, Copperhead first created a batch of their signature distillate, infused with five botanicals, then passed it on Beke who embellished these base flavours with 13 choice additions. Including a hefty amount of spices, such as allspice, bay, cassia, pepper and fennel, this gin is one to really bring alive the taste buds. The next stage was to add 8-year- old jenever to act as a sweetness in lieu of sugar. Savour on its own or mix up a Martini quite different to what you are used to.
