Benedictine DOM starts its story over 500 years ago, when a Benedictine monk created a secret elixir by distilling a select blend of botanicals he had collected from 27 different plants. Initially developed as a medicinal tonic, Benedictine DOM is still made the same top-secret way. The flavour is quite distinct, a pungent, herbal aroma that opens up into a spicy mix of cloves, cardamom, liquorice and orange, and settling down into a sweet, earthy flavour on the palate. Best enjoyed sipped neat at the end of a meal, as the French would naturally do.
